Watershed Senses Margaret River Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

We all know Margaret River is Cabernet country but it also manages to turn out some damn drinkable Shiraz. This is a super tasty spicy style of Shiraz with plenty of oomph - a wine made for the dinner table and some tasty pork ribs.

Winemaker's Notes

Watershed Premium Wines has again been judged a 5 Star Winery, our wines rated by James Halliday as "Outstanding. Wines of the highest quality, often with a distinguished pedigree" and "Highly recommended. Wines of great quality, style and character, worthy of a place in any cellar.”

The 2012 Senses Shiraz displays complex aromas of mulberries, dark plums and liquorice with hints of coffee, spice and dark chocolate. On the palate the dense velvety texture is complemented by cinnamon spice and mocha notes resulting from 18 months maturation in American and French oak. The rich fruit flavours and fine silky tannins mean that this wine can be enjoyed now or with careful cellaring will develop for the next 6 – 8 years.

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Matured for 18 months in French and American oak. Bright crimson-purple; a vibrant and fresh shiraz, red fruits, black fruits, fine spice and even finer tannins, dance with abandon in the mouth. Didn't need its gold medal at the Cowra Wine Show '14 to push its claims - just lovely stuff.
