Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
This estate-grown, West Auckland red is typically chunky and ripe, with blackcurrant and plumlike flavours and a smooth finish. The full-coloured 1998 vintage is a good, holesome red - sturdy, ripe, spicy and flavoursome, with plenty of colour and a firm foundation of tannin.

Michael Cooper (1995 Vintage) says
This estate-grown, West Auckland red is typically chunky and reasonably ripe with fruity, blackcurrant and plum-like flavours and a smooth finish. Drinkability is the key appeal of the 1995 vintage, which includes a minor proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a characterful, fresh red, lightly wooded, with quite good depth of plummy, spicy, earthy flavour. Open 1998.
