Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
Delightfully intense, fine-grained and supple, this spicy, peppery shiraz has a pristine bouquet of bright raspberries, dark cherries, redcurrants and dark plums integrated with fresh cedary oak and lifted by sweet floral scents. Medium in weight, it?s intensely flavoured with a translucent, spicy presence of small berries and plums, vanilla oak and a fine, dusty backbone, finishing with pleasing length, balance and a lively acidity.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Deep colour, with pure black fruits and a high level of mocha and fruitcake on display; the palate is fleshy and generous, with good concentration, plenty of tannin backbone and an expansive and savoury finish.

Jeremy Oliver (2010 Vintage) says
Elegant, measured and very stylish, with a spicy, peppery fragrance of pristine, penetrative cassis, blackberries and cedar/chocolate backed by nuances of briar. It's polished, smooth and minty, with a brightly lit presence of small black and red berries and cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak supported by fine, pliant tannins. It finishes long and spicy, with a refreshing acidity.

Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
A complete, robust and very Australian shiraz with a musky, peppery and floral bouquet of dark plums, cassis, sweet chocolate/vanilla oak underpinned by notes of mint and menthol, a hint of currant and a faint meatiness. Sumptuous, smoky and sweetly oaked, it's long, palate-staining presence of dark plums and berries is handsomely backed by newish oak and finishes with a hint of mineral.

Good colour; has an uncommon depth of flavour and richness to the fruit for a Riverina wine, but does not stray into the dead fruit zone; positive American oak and ripe tannins all contribute to an honest medium- to full-bodied red in traditional Australian style.

Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
Ripe, juicy and jammy, with intense pastille-like flavours of cassis and blackberries lifted by a fresh floral note and backed by powdery tannin and newish chocolatey oak. It then reveals spicy nuances of cinnamon, cloves plus slightly minty notes of dried herbs and licorice before drying out marginally towards a shortish finish of bay leaf. mineral and cola.

Medium-bodied; an impressive Riverina shiraz, with plenty of varietal fruit, the Achilles Heel a distinctly hot finish.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
Juicy, ripe and very substantial, but meaty, raisined and spirity, its assertive presence of prunes, blackberries and dark plums is rather thick and cloying. It's framed by firm, gritty tannins, and while there's plenty of genuinely ripe flavour along its rather substantial palate, it does finish with herbal nuances and perhaps would have been rather better if harvested earlier.

Still retains remarkable freshness and vibrancy to the long, quite juicy palate; a nice touch of oak into the bargain.

Firm, clear-cut blackberry shiraz varietal flavour; not overmuch texture, but makes a statement, and is not porty or jammy.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Exceptional colour for the vintage and region; medium-bodied blackberry and plum fruit married with mocha/vanilla oak; good tannins. Open-fermented, hand-plunged.

Jeremy Oliver (2003 Vintage) says
A plush, smooth and oaky modern wine with the depth of vibrant, juicy fruit to carry it with ease. Its spicy fragrance of white pepper, sweet red and black berries and chocolate/vanilla oak precedes a plush and deeply flavoured palate. Framed by pliant, firm tannins, its carefully integrated and lingering palate evenly marries intense fruit and oak, finishing with nuances of licorice and blackberry.

Very sweet fruit and lots of American oak; a pleasant wine from a great Riverland vintage, but not a patch on the Reserve.

Jeremy Oliver (2002 Vintage) says
Sumptuous, chewy shiraz with a spicy and slightly minty fragrance of cassis, raspberries and dark plums, with overt chocolate/vanilla oak and underlying nuances of menthol. Richly fruited and assertively wooded, its handsomely structured palate steamrolls along, leaving a trail of lingering spicy dark fruits and sweet oak in its wake. Firm, but fine tannins frame this Riverland classic.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; there is lots of sweet, chocolatey red berry fruit on the bouquet, with oak evident but controlled. Distinct spicy notes, almost into cinnamon, run through the medium-weight palate, where the oak handling has once again succeeded
