You've probably not heard of Whinstone in the scheme of things, largely because they have historically grown fruit for others and only kept a hat full of fruit for themselves. Now a well established vineyard and here, in a fabulous vintage, are producing the goods. Fittingly this is a wonderfully generous and round Pinot Noir, a wine of texture and plump fruit. Lovely affable juice.
Ripe strawberry and cherry aromas leap from the glass and lead to a beautifully supple palate with a rich fruit-driven mid palate and a hint of mocha oak character. The generous palate means this wine can enjoyed by itself but of course it will match a range of meat dishes.
