James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Good colour, healthy and deep; from a small block of estate dry-grown, severely pruned low-yielding vines, the black fruits intensely focused on the mid-palate, and spearing upwards on the finish, where the alcohol makes its mark.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Impenetrable colour; dark and brooding bouquet, with blackberry, tar and licorice coming to the fore; the lavish oak comes through on the thick, unctuous palate, and the finish has a strong mocha toasty note to conclude.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Slightly more developed colour than the varietal, part higher pH and perhaps cork; very concentrated full-bodied palate, with masses of black fruit and savoury tannins achieved at the expense of a warming afterglow of alcohol; 166 cases made.
