Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; a light-bodied blend, with soft red and blackcurrant fruit, subtle oak and a juicy finish.

Ray Jordan (2008 Vintage) says
Nice medium bodied blend with plenty of cooler climate influences on the Cabernet and Merlot creating a wine of finesse and charm. Effortlessly long palate of sweet ripe fruit with just a hint of understated oak. Tannins are fine and perfect for this equation.

Ray Jordan (2007 Vintage) says
Medium bodied fruity driven blended ready offering good lively fruit flavours of mint and red currant, so typical of these varieties. It's a tight leafy style with a slightly sappy astringent finish. Easy to drinking in the short term.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
Whitfield Estate was planted with vines in 1994 and still sells much of its annual grape harvest to the West Gape Howe winery and also makes wines under its own steam... Nice wine. Good value. Flavours of dusty, cedary oak, blackcurrant, pipe tobacco and a little gumleaf. Medium-bodied with a smooth, fine-grained, tannic palate delivering classic West Australia cabernet sauvignon flavours of earth and black fruits. Clean finish. Good drop.
