Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
Bob Oatley conquered the commercial wine world with his Rosemount wine business, then he sold it to Southcorp, which in turn was swallowed by Foster's. Now Bob's back ... with the terrifically named Wild Oats. This comes up in the glass very well, so make sure you give it a chance to breathe. It's then dusty and herbal and filled with attractive, fleshy, smooth-skinned, curranty flavour, the way it lolls around your mouth as delicious as it is seductive. There's nothing tricky about this; it's just a good, steady red at a fair price.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Quite clean essency cassis fruit bouquet; follows through on the palate, with juicy fruit and reasonable structure
Australian Wine Companion 2010 2009
WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Well-balanced wine with elegance and structure and lovely cabernet characters of blackcurrant and mint.

WINESTATE (2006 Vintage) says
Brooding cabernet aromas and flavours, with lots of blackcurrants. Well-integrated oak is a feature of this wine. Drink now or in a year or two.
