Willow Creek Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Sometimes a little winemaker tinkering goes a long way, as illustrated with this textural Sauvignon Blanc which looks richer and more rounded than many other examples of the genre. A thinking man/woman's Sauv Blanc this one.

Winemaker's Notes

Needing cool growing conditions to be at its best, our sauvignon blanc shows all the grassy characters and crisp acidity that make this style so appealing. There’s aromas of passionfruit and a typical hint of struck-flint minerality, which flow through to the palate and provide a crisp, long finish.

Appearance: Pale straw, with some green hues.

Nose: Aromas of passionfruit and cassis with a typical hint of struck-flint minerality and cut-grass notes.

Palate: The palate has intensity and great length of flavour, reflecting the bouquet with almost sherberty blackcurrant and passionfruit flavours, and great acidity gives the palate excellent persistence.

Willow Creek Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2012 Vintage) says
Lovely, bright, ripe citrus and tropical fruits here. This steers away from the really overt herbs and into mellow floral fragrance; really charming. The palate s smooth and gently creamy, some light, buttery fruit flavours here, really nicely handled barrel fermentation, great balance.

Clean, delicate, fresh and crisp touches of passionfruit caress the mouth; long finish.
