Light- to medium-bodied; sweet cherry and plum on entry to the palate, then persistent tannins; needs to come together, but should do so.

This is a slightly more elegant and stylish wine than the previous vintage though it retains those same gritty earthy characters. Good palate richness and ripe firmish tannins. Plenty of oak to give it further complexity.

Bright hue; plenty of red and black fruits, the tannins needing to soften and integrate. Carnelian is a cross between cabernet sauvignon, carignan and grenache bred in the US.

This is a rather unusual variety, made by crossing Cabernet carignan and Grenache. The result is a wine of fragrance and perfume with an underlay of more earthy characters. The palate is bold and generous but with fine supple tannins. Well weight oak supports a robust food wine
