Cracka Review

It's savvy time and this is a typical Adelaide Hills style with juicy passionfruit cut grass and green apple fruits finishing bright and with crisp acidity. Moreish and drinking at peak it is superb Summer drink

Winemaker's Notes

Exceptional fruit for this outstanding wine has been sourced from Gumaracha
and Keipo in the Adelaide Hills both which have the perfect climate conditions for
this vivacious grape variety. The wine displays intense aromas of passionfruit/
kiwi fruit, citrus and fresh cut pineapple. The aromas lead on to a crisp, refreshing
palate with a lingering zesty finish.

The grapes were delivered to the winery at dawn, crushed and the free run and
pressings were fermented separately. The wine was kept on yeast lees for two
months to build complexity before being stabilised, clarified and bottled.

Bright straw-green; the fragrant bouquet tells of the mix of grass/herb, kiwifruit and passionfruit on the long, even and well-balanced palate.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Pale quartz; the clean bouquet hints at the range of flavours that emerge on the long palate, running from grass to citrus to tropical, all held together by the intensity of the minerally acidity.
Australian Wine Companion 2012 2011
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; a crisp, clean bouquet leads into a tangy palate, with citrus and herb characters interspersed with tropical/passionfruit nuances, the former the more powerful and driving the long palate.
Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010
James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Bright and crisp, although neither bouquet or palate can decide between herbal/grassy notes and more tropical nuances.
Australian Wine Companion 2010 2009
James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
A solid mix of herb, grass and riper fruit; has flavour but is slightly short.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Some hints of herb and grass on the bouquet, the palate swinging to a nice mix of citrus, passionfruit and tropical flavours; good acidity and length.
