James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Highly expressive, both of flavours to come, and (unusually) of the plush, velvety texture of the deep black fruits, dark chocolate, licorice and oak tannins. It is the control of the alcohol that gives this wine its special qualities.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Dark and brooding with mocha, fruitcake and a seasoning of charry oak; the medium-bodied palate is loaded with sweet fruit and oak. Not a blockbuster, rather plenty of finesse.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Chock-full of regional dark chocolate; carries its alcohol with grace; very, very long and concentrated black fruits; oak and tannin in restraint.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium to full red; sweet, dark berry fruit and some chocolate on the bouquet leads into rich, ripe dark berry fruit on the palate with vanilla and abundant, soft tannins. One of the special series wines made by Wirra Wirra, typically in lots of 250 cases or less.
