Cracka Review

Appearance: Brilliant crimson and raspberry red.

Nose: Bouquet of ripe raspberries, toffee apple and strawberry cream. A youthful, fruit-rich nose beautifully highlights bright and fragrant grenache fruit.

Palate: Soft sweet fruit flavours of raspberries, cranberry juice and strawberry fill the juicy and mouthwatering palate. Lively acid and balanced sweetness together with cloves and aniseed add further appeal.

Food: The palate is suited to a range of cuisines or simply a-la-natural. Try it with seafood paella with saffron and preserved lemons.

Angus Hughson (2010 Vintage) says
Vibrant light red colour. Powerful raspberry fruit with some herbal complexity. Quite dry and fresh - generous Rose style with no lack of flavour - nice length. Honest wine true to style

Bright colour; a highly perfumed bouquet is followed by a wonderfully lively palate of raspberry and redcurrant, the finish bright and clear.

Tyson Stelzer (2009 Vintage) says
Fresh, lively and fruity, this is a bone dry rosé with redcurrant and strawberry fruit flavours, structured acidity and a long finish. It's a particularly attractive style for food, with no hint of the confected simplicity that characterises most at this price.

A bright hue, with attractive spicy notes on the bouquet; the palate shows some richness and depth, and just a little grip adding complexity and interest to the finish.

A user-friendly style from start to finish; bright strawberry fruit and a touch of sweetness on the back palate.

Ken Gargett (2007 Vintage) says
According to legend, this name celebrates the winery cat, which grew up eating mypongo cheddar and had its tail hacked off by one of the staff. (To be fair, Mrs W had got said tail snaggled in machinery and was about to be reduced to eight lives if said hacking had not occurred.) Quite why the faulty feline needs to be feted is unclear, but this lovely grenache-based strawberry-scented wine certainly should be.

Vibrant fuchsia; crisp and lively small red fruits; a long, virtually dry, finish.

Bright colour; highly aromatic; joyous red fruits and perfect lemony acidity; length, too.
