Witches Falls Saignee Rose

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Saignee means that the wine is made from juice that has been removed from a batch of pre-crushed grapes, and this one has used shiraz. It's an off-dry style of Rose that shows red berries, soft spices and subtle violets on the nose, whilst the palate is lighter-bodied, with a hit of sweetness upfront, some delicate red fruit flavours, gentle tannins, and a soft finish with a kick of spice at the end. Chill it down and enjoy on a casual mid-week evening.

Winemaker's Notes

Saignee (Son-yay) is french for ‘to bleed’ and describes the process of how this beautiful wine is made. It gets its vibrant colour from the grape juice having the briefest contact with the skins of some of our best Merlot and Black Muscat fruit.

Aromas of fresh berries and spice tantalise while the palate rewards with lush flavours of juicy berries and the slightest hint of sweetness. This crisp, lively wine is a wonderful match with spicy or barbequed foods.
