Witches Falls Winery Co-Inoculated Verdelho
This verdelho has been inoculated with two yeasts, and it seems Witches Falls are pretty happy with the results. It has a bit more presence than the usual verdelho fare, and shows vibrant smells of melons, citrus and chopped herbs on the nose, whilst the palate is lighter-bodied, crisp and dry, with herbaceous and fruit salad flavours, a decent zip of acidity, and a flinty mineral finish that lingers. Great with a mango salad.
The fruit for this wine was grown in the Ballandean district of the Granite Belt. The varietal characteristics of Australian Verdelho’s vary according to the climate, growing conditions and the wine-maker’s art. Queensland Verdelho’s tend to display more tropical notes of pineapple, melon, tropical fruits, guava honeysuckle and fruit salad.
