Woodlands Barrel Reserve Cabernet Franc

Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
Simply a brilliant cabernet franc whose floral, dusty and spicy aromas of sweet red and black berries are underpinned by nuances of cloves, cinnamon and fresh cedar/vanilla oak. Smooth and creamy, it's long, fine grained and elegant, with a slightly brambly expression of sour red berries, cherries and cassis backed by charmingly tight oak and framed by fine, firm tannins. Delightfully focused and elegant, it finishes with a hint of dried herbs.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
Supple and sappy this rather herbaceous and green-edged cabernet franc packs plenty of varietal raspberry, redcurrant fruit and clove/cinnamon spiciness, but falls a little short and sour-edged for a higher rating. Some well-handled oak contributes sweetness and smoothness.

Jeremy Oliver (2005 Vintage) says
A finely crafted and supple cabernet franc with a distinctively floral perfume of rose petals, rasp berries redcurrants and plums backed by restrained cedary oak and nuances of cinnamon. Long and savoury, its penetrative flavours of black berries, small red berries and cranberries are framed by fine dusty tannins. Likely to become quite spicy and meaty with age.
