Viognier often gets forgotten when it comes to choosing a wine. Maybe it's because it's a real mouthful to pronounce, who knows! But the fact remains that it is one of the most versatile wines with food. This offering from Yangarra is a more elegant style of viognier rather than the rich, fatter style that you can get. It's only 12% alcohol, and shows lots of typical stone fruits, red apples, ginger spice and dairy on the nose. The palate is graceful and creamy textured with flavours of white peach and crisp apples, poised acidity, and a dry, spicy finish. It would be great with poultry dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

“This is a very elegant wine, more fragrant than ever. There are some complex spices that stem from the wet vintage and a little effect from Botrytis, with a creaminess resulting from some extra barrel stirring. There’s lots of pink lady apples and freshly picked crunchy pear on the palate, but it’s much more floral and delicate than fruit driven” - Peter Fraser, Winemaker

A rich, golden hue in the glass, this has ripe custard apple and apricot fruit aromas, with some citrus notes also in the mix. The palate s smooth and luscious, with deep, flowing apricot flavour, gently nutty to close. Rich wine.
