Yarrambat Estate Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
The striking label brings together the Yarra Valley and its Aboriginal inhabitants; the estate-grown grapes are transported to Hanging Rock where John Ellis makes the wine; he does so with sensitivity and style. The flavours are not intense, but are so well balanced you would never think the alcohol is so low.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
The early picking shows a consistent approach by Yarrambat, which works far better with its white wines than its reds; this has light, but lively, citrus and stone fruit, with minimal oak

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Supple and smooth stone fruit and melon, minimal oak influence, but has good structure and very good length.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Quite sweet peach, nectarine and melon fruit, still 100% fresh thanks to the screwcap; any oak is irrelevant

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Gentle melon fruit; minimal oak inputs; slightly fuzzy, fractionally sweet finish.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; the bouquet has light, citrus melon fruit and smoky, slightly raw, oak, a combination which continues on the elegant light-bodied (in terms of fruit) palate, where the oak is somewhat aggressive.
