Yealands Estate Reserve Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Sustainable has become a buzzword for many wineries and Peter Yealand was responsible for the first sustainable winery of its kind in New Zealand. Far from being some kind of grass smoking, tree hugging idealistic way of making wine, it’s a way of farming sensible and reducing the risk to the environment. Classic Savvy characters here of grapefruit and guava with a mineral edge before a refreshing core of citrus acids flood the finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Aromas of dried thyme, honey and sweet pea are underpinned by hints of nut, savoury notes and a long mineral finish. An ideal match with spicy dishes.

There's a little more going on here in the Showcase sauvignon than in the straight Yealands Estate, more intensity and more fruit -well and truly popped up into the tropical spectrum. The palate has a spear of acidity that really grabs flavour in a racy fashion
