Yellowglen 'Jewel' Pink

Cracka Review

Petal pink in colour and brimming with bubbles, it tastes of fresh strawberries and citrus.

Pure perfection with a fruit platter or a spicy Thai salad, Jewel Pink is just what you need whenever you feel like being refreshed in the most delicious way.

This has attractive strawberry characters on the nose and palate, some sweetness, and finishes clean and crisp. It is lower in alcohol (and therefore kilojoules) than the Yellowglen Pink and is much softer and less boldly acidic.

Even I am not so out of touch as to be unaware that Pink is one of the hottest singers around. Or was. Or possibly they're a band. I do know it involves music and probably fun, like this simple undemanding sparkler. Easy drinking, no thinking. The PR blurb that came with it suggests it is ideal for a 'fun, girls-only lunch' or a 'romantic dinner'. Gee, d'you reckon they've got a target demographic in mind? Well ignore that—everybody deserves a bit of fun.

Yellowglen's bright, pale pink fizz, with its pretty floral, raspberry smells and its well-judged sweetness and freshness, has become hugely and deservedly popular in bottle shop land - especially sold in piccolos (200 ml bottles).
