Zeppelin Big Bertha Barossa Valley Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Like to get your hands on Big Bertha? She’s a big, bold Barossan lady in search of good times. Once you taste what’s on offer, you’ll know it’s only good times ahead as this is the kind of Shiraz that has given the Barossa a reputation for flavoursome big reds. It’s loaded with dark cherry fruit, hints of spice and meat before a full-bodied and textured palate of sweet fruit and impressive length. A wine that needs food; so put it with gourmet sausages or a meaty antipasto selection for a great pairing.

Winemaker's Notes

Aromas of intense and brightly perfumed primary red fruits dominate the nose with a herbaceous edge adding complexity.  There is plenty of richness on the palate with supple flavours of cherry and raspberry supported by hints of chocolate, balanced acidity and silky tannins. A well put together and approachable Barossa shiraz.

Expert Reviews

Tyson Stelzer (2009 Vintage) says
Nice to see a wine perfectly personified in its name and massive, fat, round blimp up in lights on its label. Unashamedly opulent, with loads of power and soft, fluffy tannins. Ready for launch.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Strong purple-crimson; a great deal of ultra-typical Barossa Valley shiraz here, yet it retains excellent structure, balance and mouthfeel, and the flavours build deliciously on the harmonious back-palate and aftertaste.
